CYCLIST is the name of a clinical trial enrolling recent recipients of an initial lung transplant. CYCLIST is currently the only Phase III clinical study in lung transplant evaluating the effect of an investigational drug on chronic rejection.

The goal of the CYCLIST trial is to determine if an investigational drug called cyclosporine inhalation solution (CIS) can safely reduce the occurrence of chronic rejection and extend life in lung transplant recipients. CIS is an inhaled form of cyclosporine, an oral medication that has been available for over twenty years to prevent rejection in transplant recipients. Inhaling cyclosporine provides a higher concentration of the drug directly in the lungs.

Participants who complete the CYCLIST research study will have the opportunity contribute to lung transplant medical research and to receive CIS at no financial cost for life as long as the drug is still under investigation or receives FDA approval. Click here for more information.

Most of the major transplant centers in North America are participating in this important trial in lung transplant. Click here for a list of participating centers. Click here to find out if you or a loved one may be eligible.

Cyclosporine Inhalation Solution (CIS) is an investigational drug and is not currently approved by the FDA.
There is no guarantee that patients will receive any benefits from trial participation if selected.
